CRASH’s average member has trained consistently for 5-7 years, enabling a balance of volume, intensity, and long-term progress.

I believe in guiding athletes while allowing them the autonomy to tweak workouts to fit their goals and needs. Safety and effective training come first, and modifications for chronic issues or specific goals are always encouraged.
My whiteboard brief is essential—not just for organizing the group but for delivering key insights about the workout’s purpose, so athletes leave with a deeper understanding of the “why” behind their training.
In 2015, J.R. and his wife Rebecca started Crossfit CRASH in Spartanburg, SC. It’s frequently said that the more haters you have, the better you’re doing. Surrounded by whispers and doubt, they quickly established the acronym as a constant reminder of their desire to prove anyone wrong who said the community that would eventually be established, couldn’t.
Embracing negativity quickly became needing it. Accepting skepticism quickly became wanting it. Enjoying the hate quickly became preferring it. Everyone who said it wouldn’t happen,
are the reason it has happened. Thank you.
